The Town of Truro is located on lower Cape Cod in Barnstable County. Truro is proud of the well preserved history tied to the sea that you will find in this Old Cape Cod town.
With beautiful beaches on Cape Cod Bay and some of the most magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean, Truro possesses many recreational activities. Hometown shops along with deep sea fishing and whale watching are just a small sample of things to do in Truro.
Points of interest include the Castle Hill Golf Course which is the oldest on the Cape. The Highland House Museum which was built in 1907 and during the 1900s was THE place to stay. The Highland Lighthouse built in 1797 is the oldest, highest and most important lighthouse on the Cape.
“Wine and Whales” is a special fundraiser to support the Center for Coastal Studies’ whale rescue and research programs. The event also celebrates the re-issue of two unique wines developed by Truro Vineyards in honor of the Center's 35th Anniversary.
The wines - Right Red and Right White – are named for the North Atlantic right whale, one of the rarest of the baleen whale species. A percentage of the proceeds from every bottle of Right Red and Right White sold throughout the year will be donated to PCCS to support scientific research into right whales and other marine mammals in Cape Cod Bay and beyond.
Event attendees will enjoy gourmet hors d’oeuvres prepared by Blackfish Restaurant, a complimentary glass of wine courtesy of Truro Vineyards, and fabulous music by the supremely talented local chanteuse Kami Lyle! Great raffle prizes and a cash bar will complete the afternoon.
